Independent city notes

Praha Notes

Quiet walks, good viewpoints and unhurried days in Prague.

Start with the city

Cross the Vltava early, before the bridges get busy. The streets of Malá Strana climb toward the castle, while the river paths give you room to see the city from a slower angle.

Morning

Walk through Old Town before breakfast, then follow the river toward Kampa. The side streets are often more rewarding than the main square.

Afternoon

Spend time in Vinohrady or Letná. Both offer residential streets, cafés and parks beyond the busiest visitor routes.

Evening

Choose a viewpoint above the river and watch the lights come on. Public transport makes it easy to return without rushing.

Practical notes

Comfortable shoes help on cobblestones. Trams cover most central neighborhoods, and weather changes quickly near the river. Check local opening hours before setting out.
